IRIS+ and Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA)

Original alignment date: 2016

A set of standardized impact metrics that can be used to understand the impact of the off-grid energy sector.

The GIIN and the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) collaborated map select IRIS metrics and GOGLA’s set of standardized impact metrics, which can be used to understand the impact of the off-grid energy sector. The coordination between the GIIN and GOGLA aims to further advance the use of standardized metrics that will strengthen the efficiency, credibility, and consistency in the reporting process. The purpose of this off-grid energy mapping between IRIS metris and GOGLA indicators is to accurately describe impacts of organizations operating in the sector, in a harmonized and comparable manner. In 2017-18 the GIIN consulted with GOGLA to inform the Navigating Impact project to develop Core Metrics Sets and a suite of resources for inclusion in IRIS+.
