Indicates whether the organization implements a strategy to address the effects of climate change on the organization's operations.
Indicates whether the organization implements a strategy to address the effects of climate change on the organization's operations.
Organizations should footnote the details of the strategy, how it is being implemented, and how climate resilience is incorporated into risk models. See usage guidance for further information.
This metric is intended to capture detailed information on a climate resilience strategy in place but does not provide an evaluation of the success with which that strategy is implemented.
A Climate Resilience Strategy contains procedures in response to the acknowledgment that climate change may affect the organization's operations, as compared to procedures that describe the organization's effects on climate change. (For the latter, see Greenhouse Gas Emissions Strategy [OI8237]). A Climate Resilience Strategy may include risk management procedures to handle the implications of natural hazards such as fire, wind, water, pest, and disease, as well as adaptation strategies to manage other impacts of climate change.
Metrics identified as "cross-category" are those that are relevant to any IRIS+ Impact Category or Impact Theme (i.e., these metrics are not specific to any particular industry/category or theme).
