This metric is intended to capture detailed information on the recycling policy in place but does not evaluate the success with which that policy is implemented.
Examples of relevant details to footnote include: items recycled (e.g., paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, water), frequency of pickup, type of processing facility, and baseline type of waste processing (where would the waste have gone otherwise, such as waste-to-energy or landfill).
Organizations are encouraged to report this metric in conjunction with Waste Reduced (OI7920).
