This metric is intended to capture the number of occupational fatalities at the organization during the reporting period. An occupational fatality occurs if an event or exposure results in the fatal injury or illness of a person, either on the employer's premises while the person was there to work or off the employer's premise while the person was there to work (or if the event/exposure was related to the person's work or status as an employee).
