Rate of maximum flow of water through a stream or river on land directly or indirectly managed by the organization as of the end of the reporting period.
Organizations should footnote all assumptions used, including source(s) of data.
This metric is intended to capture the highest rate of water flowing through a stream or river per unit of time, typically measured in cubic feet per second or cubic meters per second. Maximum waterflow often occurs during storms.
To calculate these data, organizations may use modeling tools such as HydroCAD's Rational Method (https://www.hydrocad.net/rational.htm) or USDA's WinTR-55 Watershed Hydrology (https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detailfull/national/water/?cid=stelprdb1042901).
