Adaptation Needs Assessment (OI9101)

This metric is intended to describe the specific adaptation needs of the region targeted by the organization. There are different methodologies to conduct such assessment, the one below lists a number of approaches recommended by UNFCCC

• Using participatory approaches;
• Covering multiple climate and socioeconomic scenarios;
• Considering both transboundary and domestic or local climate risks, as well as compound and cascading risks;
• Employing an adaptive risk management or pathways approach;
• Considering transformational adaptation options in addition to incremental actions;
• Conducting integrated assessments of capacity, technological and financial needs.
