This metric is intended to capture the organization’s policy to combat discrimination in the workplace. Anti-discrimination policies, often called non-discrimination or equal employment opportunity policies, prohibit or penalize discrimination on the basis of age; color; disability; gender expression; gender identity; HIV status; marital status; national, social, or ethnic origin; participation in collective bargaining agreements; political opinion; race; religion; or sexual orientation. Such policies prohibit making recruitment, compensation, termination, promotion, or any other conditions of employment contingent upon any of the affiliations listed above for any employee or job applicant.
