    GIIN Town Hall: Introducing IRIS+

    During this virtual Town Hall, the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) introduces IRIS+ to the impact investing market. IRIS+ makes it easier for investors to translate their impact intentions into real impact results. It is a comprehensive system for impact investors to measure, manage and optimize their impact. IRIS+ reduces confusion, increases comparability, and makes it easier to communicate impact results.

    Navigating Impact Project Gender Lens Theme Webinar

    On February 14, 2019, the GIIN and Criterion Institute hosted a live demo of the Navigating Impact Project Gender Lens Theme. The Gender Lens theme, led by the Criterion Institute, draws on the knowledge and experience of +50 investors and experts, and aims to help investors incorporating a gender lens connect their impact goals with core sets of metrics, evidence, and resources to put them into action.

    Decision Points: Exploring Key Motivations and Approaches to Building an Impact Investing Practice

    On August 14, 2018, the GIIN hosted a webinar called, Decision Points: Exploring Key Motivations and Approaches to Developing an Impact Investing Practice. During this 1-hour session, the GIIN explored some key choices that impact investors make when developing an impact portfolio. The webinar began with opening remarks from the GIIN’s Managing Director Giselle Leung, followed by a short research presentation by GIIN Research Associate Hannah Dithrich.

    On February 28th, 2018, the GIIN hosted an IRIS Standards Series Webinar with the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) and Impax Asset Management. During this 1-hour webinar, speakers shared information about the Alliance for Water Stewardship’s Standard and how it links to IRIS. Impax Asset Management added additional color to the conversation, explaining how the organization manages impact within the rapidly growing water value chain.

    On January 29th, 2018, the GIIN hosted a webinar, Impact Measurement & Management (IMM) Deep Dive: Strengthening Practice and Addressing Industry Challenges. During this 1-hour session, speakers shared data from the GIIN's State of Impact Measurement and Management Practice report, demonstrated examples of resources investors can use to address industry challenges and strengthen industry practice (such as the GIIN's Navigating Impact platform), and revealed insights about IMM in action.

    Key Choices in Impact Measurement and Management (IMM): Exploring Decisions Investors Face in Developing an IMM Practice

    On January 23rd, 2018, the GIIN hosted a webinar drawing on key findings from The State of Impact Measurement and Management Practice, to demonstrate a variety of choices that impact investors often consider. The webinar included remarks from the GIIN’s Research Team and shared first-hand insights about these considerations from three prominent impact investors: Sarah Wilson (Nuveen, A TIAA Company), Grace Horwitz (Blue Haven Initiative), and Michael Eddy (Global Innovation Fund).

    IRIS Standards Series Webinar: IRIS, Metrics for Healthy Communities, and the Investor Perspective

    As a part of IRIS' and the Build Healthy Places Networks' (BHPN) ongoing efforts to address fragmentation in reporting social and environmental performance information, the GIIN and BHPN partnered to provide guidance for impact investors on how to use impact metrics in accordance with both organizations' tools. On June 28th, 2017, the GIIN and BHPN hosted a webinar delineating this partnership and explaining the use case for both IRIS and the Metrics for Healthy Communities. The webinar also discusses the ways in which investors can effectively incorporate positive health outcomes into community development investments.
